Veterinary Technician – Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital – Oakhurst, NJ

Experienced veterinary technician needed for busy, 9 doctor, AAHA accredited animal hospital. We use electronic medical records, so computer literacy is imperative.

Minimal experience of 2 years. Certified preferred but not necessary.

Job responsibilities include assisting doctors in exam rooms, working directly with clients and client education, following doctors orders, venipuncture, catheter placement, knowledge of different medications, patient treatments including IV, SQ, & IM injections, assisting in rounds, digital X-rays, obtain EKG and blood pressure, ability to monitor patients under anesthesia, and caring for pre and post operative patients. Surgical experience to include pre-medicating patients, induction, ET tube placement, patient prep, patient monitoring, knowledge of sterile procedures, instrument cleaning and care, wrapping surgical instruments and gowns, dentistry including anatomy, cleaning, charting, and digital radiology.

Full time hours to include 1-2 evenings and 1 Saturday shift.
